Chidra, "pierced", documents a unique purification rite of the Indian Himalaya, in which the ritual specialist is ultimately offered to the gods in an approximation of ancient human sacrifices. Between mediums and priests, peasants and gods, Chidra explores the social and psychological constructs surrounding the removal of sin along the mountainous frontier of Hinduism.

The documentary is my coming of age among a community of Gypsies in Nabbin, a small village in the Czech Republic. In the film I portray the uninhibited and inspiring friendship with my wild friends. Although this community is socially unprivileged, I’ve come to know people full of generosity and acceptance.
